What is Tox?

Tox is a drug made from a toxin produced by the bacterium
Clostridium botulinum. It's the same toxin that causes a

Ann Marie Karspeck, APRN, CNP, and Josh Finkelstein, RN, BSN are the passionate and experienced owners of Advanced Practice Aesthetics. Josh has been a Registered Nurse since 2015, with experience in withdrawal management detox services, home healthcare, and an adolescent residential psych unit. Ann Marie has been a Registered Nurse since 2009 and a Nurse Practitioner since 2018, having worked in hospice, telephonic triage, pediatric home care, oncology, family practice at Mayo Clinic, and urgent care.

For the past five years, they have dedicated themselves to helping people feel better about themselves, inside and out. Ann Marie and Josh take pride in really getting to know and bond with their clients and helping them achieve their aesthetic goals.

When they aren't working, Ann Marie and Josh enjoy spending time with their 2 kids and other close family members, and travelling the country.

What is it ?

What does it do?

Tox injections block certain chemical signals from nerves, mostly signals that cause muscles to contract. The most common use of these injections is to temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause wrinkles in the forehead and around the eyes

Is it Safe?

Tox injections are safe when performed by someone with experience. Possible side effects and complications include: Pain, swelling or bruising at the injection site. Headache or flu-like symptoms.

Does it hurt?

Tox procedure can be virtually painless. Even without a numbing agent, pain is minimal, and you may only feel a little pinch. Injections are very quick and with a trained medical professional, you may not even notice when they happen.
